HOW TO PREPARE YOURSELF FOR A FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DETOX?

First of all, I’m so excited you’re here because that means you’re one step closer to completing a Functional Medicine Detox!

As someone who has guided countless clients through this journey (and experienced its profound benefits firsthand), I can tell you that this functional medicine detox is a game-changer.

WHY THIS DETOX COMES FIRST

In my practice, this detox is always step one. Whether clients come to me for hormone imbalances, gut issues, or energy concerns, we start here. Why? Because supporting your body's natural detoxification pathways creates the foundation for all other healing to occur.

If you haven’t already, you can order your 7, 14, or 21-day detox here. If it is your first time or haven’t done it in a while, I highly recommend starting with a 21-day program. It will provide the most benefits!

PREPARING YOUR MIND 🧠

The next 7, 14, or 21 days will transform more than just your body.

Here's how to get mentally ready:

  • Set your intention and write it down: Why are you doing this detox? How will your life look when you feel so much better?

  • Understand this isn't about deprivation - it's about deep healing.

  • Join our support community.

  • Remember: temporary discomfort leads to lasting change.

The right mindset is half the journey. Repeat this mantra daily, “Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better.”

PREPARING YOUR BODY 💪🏽

  • For maximum results, caffeine should be limited during the detox. If you’re a caffeine drinker, gradually reduce your intake one to two weeks prior to starting the detox to avoid caffeine withdrawal symptoms.

    • If you are not able to quit caffeine in time for the detox, you may drink up to one small cup of coffee in the mornings during the detox.

  • Make sure you’re having bowel movements, at least 1-2 times daily! This is crucial for eliminating toxins from the body. If you’re struggling with this, try drinking warm lemon water with sea salt each morning, eat fiber-rich foods, and consider supplementing with Calming Magnesium or Alkalizing Vitamin C. Another great way to clear your pipes is with coffee enemas.

  • I cannot recommend enough sweating during any detoxification protocol. Incorporate saunas throughout the detox to eliminate toxins. You can also incorporate exercise and warm baths. Sweating is a powerful way to eliminate toxins from the body, so don’t forget to wash off the sweat right away!

  • Your lymphatic system plays a crucial role in your body’s detoxification. Moving the lymph is a manual process, and you can use dry brushing, rebounding, and exercise to move your lymph and excrete toxins.

  • Consider taking a binder supplement to bind to toxins and remove them effectively from your body. This might help lessen detox symptoms and eliminate more toxins from your body.

PREPARING YOUR KITCHEN 🥦

  • This is the perfect time to clean out your kitchen and remove any foods not allowed during the detox and that would cause temptation.

  • Use this Detox Guide to plan your meals and to go shopping for the right foods. This is the same guide that comes with the detox.

PREPARING YOUR FAMILY 🏡

  • Family support is crucial for success. Make sure they understand why you’re doing this detox and how important it is to you.

  • Let them know in advance that you will be eating home-cooked meals, so you may not be able to eat out with them. You can even plan family meals that align with the protocol.

  • Consider having them join you! This is a great way to not only get additional support, but also share the amazing benefits of the detox.
